What to expect

Champagne generously sponsored by The Co-op and art shopping will begin promptly at 6:00pm. We recommend you come on time so you’ll have a chance to grab a glass of bubbly and get settled before everyone finds a seat for our “Honest Conversation.”

Promptly at 6:30pm, Gervase will interview Lucy and Emily about what it REALLY takes to balance business and motherhood in her signature real coaching style. You will have an active role in this conversation if you desire it, whether to share your story or just soak up all the wisdom bombs dropped by every amazing woman in the room. More champagne, cookies and art shopping from 7:15-8:00pm. There will be exclusive discounts throughout the gallery for attendees that night.

Women in all stages of mothering, from SAHMs to CEOs are invited! Not a mom? You’re always welcome, and this WILL be an event and open discussion focused on the behind-the-scenes juggling act of real moms in the community (#thejuggleisreal).

PSA: This will NOT be your traditional “Mom’s Night Out.” You’ve been warned. Dress to impress!

PSA #2: As this is an adult audience, there will likely be some adult language. If this offends you, this may not be the event for you.

*NOTE: This event will be recorded via video for future marketing. Everything shared will be kept confidential and no guest audio clips will be shared via the video.*

Meet Our Mama Panel

Lucy Cuneo is a photographer & lifestyle blogger based in Charleston. She is the proud mother of a beautiful 21-month-old baby boy and is enjoying trying to find the balance between running her company and spending time with her family.

Emily Brown is a mother of three girls, ages 12, 11 and 6. Drawing from an intuitive creative process and a passion for color, Emily Brown has become a celebrated Southern artist. Brown uses her love for texture – layering media such as charcoal, acrylics and oil pastels – to create beautiful paintings. She combines bold strokes of color with the starkness of innocent lines and untouched spaces to tell a unique story. A member of the Charleston Artist Collective, Emily resides with her husband and three daughters on Sullivans Island, South Carolina.

I’m not a mom. Am I welcome here?

ALL women (sorry, boys!) are welcome at Champagne Society events, whether you are mothers at any stage or not. That being said, the focus of this event WILL be on the unique balancing act mothers experience in all areas of their lives, but the wisdom shared will easily apply to women in all stages of life.

I can’t find a babysitter? Can you help me?

YES! We have partnered with a local mom-owned babysitting agency we KNOW, LIKE AND TRUST: Your Happy Nest! START HERE to get your vetted sitter signed, sealed and delivered by these life-savers! They have already made sure several are available the night of this event! Mama’s night out doesn’t ONLY happen if she has a partner at home to help. Single moms or moms with traveling partners or just parents who BOTH need a break can utilize this amazing resource for this event or anytime. Do it. DO IT. Contact Your Happy Nest and gift yourself some back-up.

Can I come alone?

The Society is so super friendly, so YES, if you can’t find a wing woman, just bring your fabulous self and walk right up to Gervase or the first mama you see and introduce yourself! It’s such good practice in making yourself super uncomfortable in the name of saying YES to new experiences that you thank yourself for later. Promise.

What should I wear?

This is NOT your typical Moms’ Night Out. Dress to impress. We don’t have enough excuses to get (and feel!) glam in our daily lives, so heels, jewelry, lipstick, dresses, etc are welcome! That being said, whatever you feel comfortable in! If you are a heels, jeans and jewelry kind of gal, that works! It ALL belongs in this society. You can find pictures from our past event on a scrolling bar at the top of this page. I know, I know – it’s SO stressful when someone forces you to MAKE time to go shopping for YOU to find something you feel fabulous in for a super special night out. You can thank us later!

Can I buy tickets at the door?

The last four events have sold out in a matter of weeks, so buy your tickets ASAP so you’re not caught on our waiting list kicking yourself for saying you’d buy them at the door! I know . . . it’s hard to commit. I get it. Your call, but you’re going to have massive FOMO. Just sayin’.

Should I eat dinner before I come?

Not a bad idea, particularly considering the bubbly flows like water around these parts! There will be a board of delicious charcuterie and possibly some sweet treats, but you are usually too busy mingling to focus on eating them! There is always an afterparty somewhere announced at the event where everyone can go and order real meals afterwards, too.

Is there an afterparty?

Yes! We like to keep the energy of the night going with a Society afterparty that we coordinate with a nearby restaurant or bar beforehand. We will announce the location at the event!

Should I drive or Uber?

Parking for this event will be tricky, Charleston Artist Collective is located in the heart of the Old Village in Mount Pleasant. All parking will be street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. That being said, for this event I would CARPOOL with friends coming from the same area and/or Uber so you can really enjoy yourself and not worry about logistics!

I bought a ticket, but now I can’t make it. Can I get a refund?

Tickets are not refundable, but they are transferrable! Post in the Facebook event and you can sell your ticket directly to another mama, or gift it to a friend. However you choose to transfer your ticket is fine with us! Just have the new ticket-holder give YOUR name at the door and you and your ticket buyer can work out Venmo transfers, etc.

I bought a ticket and received an email confirmation. Do I need to show that at the door?

If you received an email confirmation, rest assured your name will be on the guest list when you arrive and someone from the Unicorn Squad will be checking you in. No need to pull up anything on your phone (personally hate doing that!)!
