WHAT'S THE "SWEAT" SERIES?
The Champagne Society Charleston: SWEATS - is a new series that will begin with a self-care sweatfest (like yoga, dance, etc) to get you feeling amazing and finish with a panel interview by Certified Mindset Coach for Mompreneurs, Gervase Kolmos, of local Charleston mamas who are juggling sweaty amazing careers and motherhood.
We'll start with a movement class;
We'll end with an Honest Conversation
*There will always be bubbly
Sunday, October 28th
1836 Ashley River Road
Charleston, SC 29407
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Step 1: SWEAT
Jennifer will lead us through a 45 minute warm Vinyasa practice with elements of a therapeutic process to encourage self exploration. You'll sweat, sit with your edge and connect on a deeper level with self and other ladies just like yourself. Laughs, cries and fun encouraged!
Step 2: CONNECT
We'll break for water, smoothies, mimosas and healthy snacks and meet some of the other women in the room before returning to our yoga mats (with mimosas and snacks!) for an Honest Conversation with the owners of Soul Yoga.
Step 3: CONVERSE
Cue the "Real AF" Honest Conversation facilitated by Gervase. She'll interview Jennifer and Amanda (owners of Soul Yoga) about the juggle between career and motherhood. We'll get real, raw and tangible. Questions from the tribe are encouraged. This is a safe space for a judgment-free CONVERSATION.
MEET OUR REAL MAMA PANEL:
Mother of 2 little ones (ages 2 & 4), co-owner of a local yoga studio, Soul Charleston and founder of two previous studios, Soul Lewes and Soul Salisbury. Jennifer maintains her drive and motivation in a lifestyle that allows for being with friends & family, traveling, but also striking enough balance to keep the fire stoked (on most days that is).
Jennifer is a graduate of George Washington University, staff member with Phoenix Rising School of Yoga Therapy and employee at Palmetto Behavioral Health. Private clients, groups and teaching on Kiawah are additional roles assumed and between mom duties, tending to her 2.5 acre property and working, there is enough variety to keep things exciting for always moving forward.
Jennifer lives on Johns Island with her husband, 2 small children and Great White Pyrenees Pup. Free time is spent on the water, tending to their property and soaking up nature.
A college grad to crew member of a 60-meter vessel turned yoga instructor, Amanda Cunningham has explored 30+ countries via 6 continents, crossed the Atlantic and Pacific oceans by boat and continues to chase wanderlust every chance she gets.
She ditched the idea of 9-5 to pursue a lifestyle that made her happy, opened a few yoga studios, including Soul Yoga Charleston and began designing websites for small biz. When she’s not in the studio she can be found running the Yoga Medicine Seva Foundation, a non-profit based in India that rescues and rehabilitates women and children from the sex trade.
Amanda lives in West Ashley with her husband Joe, congressional candidate for SC’s 1st district, their son Boone and rescue Teddy.
*NOTE: Please contact us at email@example.com by Monday, September 10th, if you'd love to get some mama self-care, sisterhood and sweat for you or a girlfriend, but for whatever reason the ticket price is prohibitive. Volunteer opportunities available in exchange for free tickets.
MEET OUR SPONSORS
I’m not a mom. Am I welcome here?
ALL women (sorry, boys!) are welcome at Champagne Society events, whether you are mothers at any stage or not. That being said, the focus of this event WILL be on the unique balancing act mothers experience in all areas of their lives, but the wisdom shared will easily apply to women in all stages of life.
Can I come alone?
The Society is so super friendly, so YES, if you can’t find a wing woman, just bring your fabulous self and walk right up to Gervase or the first mama you see and introduce yourself! It’s such good practice in making yourself super uncomfortable in the name of saying YES to new experiences that you thank yourself for later. Promise.
What should I wear?
Can I buy tickets at the door?
No. If there are still tickets available, you can buy yours at the link above and THEN run out the door, but every event since October has sold out, so buy your tickets ASAP so you’re not caught on our waiting list kicking yourself! I know . . . it’s hard to commit. I get it. Your call, but you’re going to have massive FOMO. Just sayin’.
I bought a ticket, but now I can’t make it. Can I get a refund?
Tickets are not refundable, but they are transferrable! Post in the Facebook event and you can sell your ticket directly to another mama, or gift it to a friend. However you choose to transfer your ticket is fine with us! Just have the new ticket-holder give YOUR name at the door and you and your ticket buyer can work out Venmo transfers, etc.
I bought a ticket and received an email confirmation. Do I need to show that at the door?
If you received an email confirmation, rest assured your name will be on the guest list when you arrive and someone from the Unicorn Squad will be checking you in. No need to pull up anything on your phone (personally hate doing that!)!
